All 18 missiles were shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported.
SPEKA calculated how much Russia spent on the night attack.
How much did the shelling of Ukraine on May 16 cost Russia?
cost of the May, 16 attack
- 6 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal aeroballistic missiles (NATO codename – AS-24 Killjoy). The cost of one Kinzhal missile is from $10 million, so Russia spent $60 million that night.
9 Kalibr cruise missiles. The cost of the Kalibr missile is $6.5 million, so the total cost of an attack by nine Kalibres is up to $58.5 million.
3 ground-based missiles (S-400, Iskander-M) – the cost of one Iskander is about $3 million, so the total cost of a night attack is about $9 million.
6 Shahed-136/131 strike UAVs – the cost of one Shahed drone is from $20 to $50 thousand, i.e. it is about $120-300 thousand.
3 Orlan 10, SuperCam UAVs – although the official price of the UAV Orlan-10 is unknown, its cost is estimated at $80-120 thousand.
Thus, Russia spent about $128 million on the missile attack on May 16.
All missiles and drones launched by the occupiers were shot down by Ukrainian air defense forces. Fragments of downed rockets fell in several districts of Kyiv and caused fires; there are no casualties so far.
